This is a an area where we can discuss / comment on some of the feedback as it comes in.
To kick off, one of the requirements from the presentation was;
- BCC supported technologies – Java or Microsoft
We were challenged on this during the event so we’ve gone away and reviewed it. The upshot is that being based on either Java or Microsoft platforms isn’t mandatory and we are open to suggestions for solutions that run on other technologies.
What we do need are those solutions to have a roadmap and that we can arrange comprehensive support that fits an organisation our size.
This means there are potentially more options to look at.
Of the three offered on the day, Drupal, Plone and WordPress, I can see Drupal being an option. I’m not convinced that Plone or WordPress are enterprise class in terms of workflow and role definitions or that we could call on the type of support we’d need, if we move away from our currently supported technologies.
